Teachers' Council is formed with all teachers of Netaji Subhash Mahavidyalaya reflecting on the principles of participation in decision-making process in a democratic environment. All permanent teachers of the College are members of the Teachers' Council. Principal of the College is the Ex-officio President of the Council. The Council elects President of the Council, Secretary, Joint Secretary and Treasurer as the Office Bearers and the Committees of the Teachers' Council are formed in the Annual General Meeting of the Council for smooth functioning of the curricular and Co-curricular activities. AFTER COMPLETION OF THE PERIOD CONVENER OF ALL COMMITTEES SUBMIT THEIR ACTION TAKEN REPORT TO THE SECRETARY OF TEACHERS’ COUNCIL. The Teachers’ Council meeting presided by the Principal is held on the first working day of every month.
The important Committees of the Teachers' Council are as follows:
Academic Committee looks into the various academic issues of the college and ensure proper disposal of the issues in consultation with all concerned. The Committee audits academic matter of departments (Departmental library management, Department-wise students’ attendance record, Departmental lesson plan, Existence of departmental question bank, Departmental students’ seminar, Departmental wall magazine, Departmental plan of organisation of International/National/State level Seminar, Departmental plan of attending staff development programme of teachers). The Committee prepares the annual Academic Calendar of the College. The administration asks its advice on various academic matters.
Examination Committee for conducting internal assessment tests of the College and Tripura University scheduled final examinations. The Committee also gives advice to the administration on evaluation matters.
Research and Seminar/Workshop/Scientific Programme Committee facilitates debate competition of students and prepares them for different debate competitions and organizes Seminar, Workshop, Symposium and Conference. The Committee also encourages and motivates the teachers to submit research projects to various funding agencies.
Cultural Committee organizes social and cultural activities like Saraswati Puja, Milad-Mehfil, celebration of the Foundation Day of the college, National Day, Freshers’ Welcome, and similar cultural activities.
Magazine Committee organizes the publication of College Magazines in collaboration with Students’ Council of the College.
Library Advisory Committee functions to ensure proper maintenance of all library facilities, department-wise budget allocation for purchasing of books and journals and takes decisions for the improvement of library services.
Games & Sports Committee organizes Annual Sports of the College and manages students’ activities in games and sports and accompanies students in games and sports competition organized by University/Colleges.
Drama/Debate Committee supports to prepare and guide the students for different drama competitions organized by University/Colleges.
Girls' and Boy's Common Room Committee discharges duties of maintaining a well functioning girl’s common room.
RUSA/Development Committee
UGC Committee and Planning Board looks after the optimal utilization of UGC fund allocation of the College.
Routine Committee plans the allocation of classes to optimal utilization of the available classroom spaces and prepares the class routine of the college.
Students Council Election Committee
Committee against 'Sexual Harassment' looks into matters related to harassment of students, teaching staff and non-teaching staff of the college.
